We have gathered here 33 drawings from the series “Les Sparrows qui passe” (2012) with seven canvases from the series “Passage” (2013). Added to this are seven other canvases (2012 and 2013) also featuring sparrows.
Symbols of lightness, movement, impermanence, in-between and passage, birds, little messengers between heaven and earth, often surround a character to whom they seem to deliver, a message in the ear . Their wings are sometimes "decorated", in a humorous way, by marks that evoke the world of aviation, giving these angel-little cars the air of Ambassadors of Heaven (on a special mission!)
Text by Jean-Paul Perrenx: "I have in my head, ladies and gentlemen, a composition where the shapes are round, where the itinerary that I draw has curved lines, with a desired symmetry, also with an aerial journey, with stars, a moon, a sun, what else do you see! And then all this gives birth to sparrows that just come and go on the surface of the canvas, on the wooden totems (I take this opportunity to thank my jigsaw, yes a big thank you to her). Looks like these birds aren't quite sure what they want. They slowly fade into the colors of my palette, but shh, thank you for them. »
